今回は、東京メトロが訪日客の為に用意したサポート内容を紹介する。
Action of Ginza Line
The Ginza Line has intervals between trains as short as 3 minutes during daytime hours.
銀座線は電車の運転間隔が日中の時間帯でおよそ3分と短い。
It was determined that even if the guidance was switched from arrival time to "in X minutes," it would not cause great confusion for passengers and so the system was introduced at all stations with the exception of Asakusa and Shibuya.
なので電車の到着時刻ではなく「あと何分」といった案内に切り替えても、乗客の間で大きな混乱が起こらないと判断し、浅草駅と渋谷駅を除く全駅でこの方式を導入した。
It is also displayed in English, an approach that is unusual nationally.
英語でも表示され、全国的にも珍しい取り組みだ。
Why is it Ginza Line only?
Because the Ginza Line does not operate through services with other companies' lines, it is easy for the company to introduce their own initiatives.
銀座線は他社線との相互直通運転をしていないため、自社ならではのサービスを導入しやすい。
There are currently no plans to expand it to other routes, but future support will be considered according to usage of the Ginza Line.
現時点で他の路線へ広げる計画はないが、銀座線の利用状況に応じて今後の対応を検討する。
Action of Other Lines
The company is also proceeding with the introduction of a new model display unit that supports multiple languages.
運営会社では、多言語に対応した新型表示器の導入も進めている。
In addition to the usual Japanese and English, they plan to proceed with installation of display devices that support four languages, including Chinese and Korean, on all lines.
従来の日本語と英語に加え、中国語や韓国語の計4カ国語に対応した表示器の設置を全線で進める計画だ。
Why does Tokyo Metro rushing to support?
Because it is said that using the railways causes problems for inbound tourists.
何故なら,訪日客にとって鉄道の使い勝手に課題があるとされからだ。
An increase in use by inbound tourists is expected ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.
2020年の東京五輪パラリンピックを控え、訪日客の利用増が見込まれる。
This initiative was born out of searching for ways to make information displays that were easy for foreigners to understand.
外国人には分かりやすい案内表示の方法を模索する中、今回の取り組みが生まれたという。
As increasing usage by inbound tourists contributes to earnings, they are striving to improve services.
訪日客の利用増が収益にも貢献するため、サービス改善に努める。

東京地下鉄（東京メトロ）が訪日外国人向け対応の拡充を急ぐ。
On the Ginza Line, they have changed the information display for upcoming trains to an "in X minutes" format familiar to foreigners.
銀座線では電車の運行情報について、外国人になじみのある「あと何分」という案内表示に変更。
They will also move forward with foreign language support in stations as a whole, providing Chinese and Korean guidance.
