エアラップスタイラーって何？特徴は？

On the 23rd, Dyson's Japanese headquarters announced that it will release a hair curler that styles hair using wind in Japan.

英ダイソンの日本法人は23日、風を使って髪形を整えるヘアカーラーを日本で発売すると発表した。

The product name is Dyson Airwrap Styler.

製品名は「ダイソン　エアラップ　スタイラー」。

It also has a hair dryer function, so that damp hair can be curled with air pressure while blow drying it.

ドライヤー機能も備え、湿った髪を乾かしながら風圧で髪を巻いたりブローしたりできる。

The unit can be used for three purposes in one, curling hair, drying it, and styling it.

1台で髪を巻く、乾かす、髪形を整えるという3つの用途に使える。

The aim is to incorporate women's needs, and to strengthen the company by fostering the field of beauty as a new pillar.

女性のニーズを取り込み、理美容分野を新たな柱の1つに育てるとして強化する狙いだ。

ドライヤーとの違い

The damage to hair can be reduced compared with traditional heat styling.

従来の熱を使ったスタイリングと比べて髪へのダメージを軽くできる。

Until now, hair styling was often done by drying the hair with a hair dryer, then using curlers or hair straighteners, and arranging the style with a brush.

これまでのスタイリングではドライヤーで髪を乾かしてから熱を使ったコテやヘアアイロンを使い、ブラシで整えることが多かった。

There were also concerns that by adding further heat to hair dried with hot air, it would become easily damaged.

熱風で乾かした髪にさらに熱を与え、髪が傷みやすくなるとの懸念もあった。

コアンダ効果とは

Dyson's product uses a phenomenon called the Coanda effect, in which high-speed, high-pressure air flows along the surface of an object.

ダイソンの製品は「コアンダ効果」と呼ばれ、高速・高圧の気流が物体の側面に従って流れていく現象を活用した。

When the device is brought close to damp hair, the hair is sucked in and curls along the airflow created by the small internal motor, completing the hair style.

湿った髪の毛に機器を近づけると、内蔵の小型モーターが作り出す気流に沿って髪が吸い込まれるように巻き付き、髪形が完成する。

The biggest merit of Dyson Airwrap Styler is the point that styling is possible in one.

ヘアラップスタイラーの最大のメリットは、1台でスタイリングが可能な点だ。

For the particularly busy woman, it leads to reduction of styling hours of the morning.

特に忙しい女性にとっては、朝の時短につながる。

Veronica Alanis, an engineer who worked on the development, said, "It was difficult to grasp individual's differing hair quality and the preferences in each country, but I think being able to style hair with one device is revolutionary.

開発に携わったエンジニアのヴェロニカ・アラニス氏は「個人で異なる髪質や各国の嗜好を把握するのが大変だったが、1台でスタイリングができる点が画期的だと思っている。

We will continue to consider new products in the beauty field."

理美容分野では今後も新製品を検討していく」と話した。
